A retelling of the classic fairy tale

The Sleeping Beauty

The Sleeping Beauty

It is Sleeping Beauty, Princess Briar Rose’s sixteenth birthday, and something has got her in a tantrum.

Her father hasn’t seen anything like it since the terrible twos! There hasn’t been so much drama at the palace since Maleficent, the 13th fairy, gate-crashed the Christening and put her evil curse on Briar Rose.

In this tale of fairies, christenings, marriages and Maleficent’s evil spell, writers Sharon Young, Jill Moore and Christine Colbert have kept all the elements of the traditional story, but have added a few surprises of their own. A succession of comic Princes and Princesses are all in search of a life partner, and only some magical intervention from the Lilac Fairy can sort out the chaos. And as for Briar Rose – she always knew her Prince would come – even if it did take a hundred years.
